21 March 2009Heaven is so far of the Mind
That were the Mind dissolved
The Site of it by Architect
Could not again be proved‘Tis vast as our Capacity
As fair as our idea
To Him of adequate desire
No further ’tis, than Here~Emily Dickinson
I do believe there is more to virtual life then Second Life … the art, the design, the stories … the wisdom… and the fantasy. I always have. I just have never taken the time to explore very much of it since I rezzed into SL nearly 3 years ago.
I am not at all attracted to the violence of video games, the “gaming,” so to speak. But I am very much drawn to the beauty–the environment, the story… the quest for wisdom, and most of all, the art and design … and the “immersion.” I love being immersed… and I love creating the experience, especially when something is actually learned, or “felt” as a result. I would call it my “thing,” actually. After this past week and the biggest disappointment I’ve had in SL thus far… having lost my own “canvas,” as my beloved Doc calls it, I plan to use this time away to see, and do, and play in other worlds quite away from ours for awhile.
I need the diversion. I need new worlds and other types of artful innovations to explore. I also want a bit more of the first one, which is beautiful too, as the allure of Spring begins to bud right here in my own real life secret garden.
Naturally, I’ll keep you posted. I am about to take Ginger on “The Path.”
Of course, I would begin my journey as the redhead. ;=)
